Thank you to the Library Board, our staff, and all patrons for another great library year. Despite the challenges in 2021, we stayed open and were able to continue providing services to our community.
The great news of 2021 was the State approval of our construction grant which made it possible to start our renovation of the adult section of the library. The work has already started and we are very excited to open our brand new upstairs space sometime in the spring of 2022.
Our highlights this year also included the Summer Reading Program with Gazebo story-time and the “In the Park” series. All events were well-attended and we had so much fun! Big thank you to our school district for helping to sponsor these programs. Our themed, on-site monthly activities for kids also enjoyed popularity with “The Clay Witch Village” becoming the most popular with fantastic creations in clay.
This year, the library launched a community news e-newsletter which continues to gain subscribers. We hope it will help to inform our community about upcoming events and keep everybody up to date with local news. We encourage everybody to be a part of this initiative and welcome help in creating its content.
Our circulation continues to grow with 23804 checkouts this year. While the ongoing pandemic limited our programming in 2021, we are hoping to be able to bring back more in-person events in 2022.
Thank you to our Town and community for your ongoing support. We cannot do it without you!
